Well equipped shower, toilet and washing up facilities are located a few minutes walk from your yurt at The Hub, from where you can also enjoy breath-taking views of the Moray Firth. The Hub, which also serves as Black Isle Yurts' reception, linen storage and office area, is found just below our carpark. Here, if required, we will provide you with a wheelbarrow to assist you in transporting your luggage from the car to your yurt!
The Hub also has baby-changing facitilities in a special, accessible toilet/ shower-room.
WIFI: For those who want to get away from it but need to stay connected, a free wifi connection is available at The Hub. 4G services may also be available from your yurt, depending on your mobile network.
The Adam family are dog lovers and guests’ dogs are welcome, provided they are kept under close control. Easter Hillockhead is a working farm and there are animals in nearby fields. But this is an ideal holiday place for well behaved dogs: there is plenty of space for walks in the woods and on the beach. Please be careful about wildlife. We ask that you are responsible and clear up your dog’s mess.
Inside, we ask that you bring a rug or basket for your dog and make sure it is used – rather than chairs and beds – for your dog to rest on! We have a high standard of cleanliness in the yurts, so please also check that dogs are reasonably clean before letting them inside.
We understand that not everyone shares our love of dogs, and some people have allergies to dog hair, so Holly Yurt will remain “dog free” at all times.
There is a one-off charge of £20 for dogs to take account of the extra cleaning time/effort required to service the dog-friendly yurts - please add this as an optional 'extra' when making your booking online.
And watch out for this terror (Ted) on the drive in, he likes to hang out near the barn! There are also horses and other animals around, as well as other yurt guests, visitors and children, so please always drive carefully (max 10mph).
Black Isle Yurts is located on a working farm so it is important that guests take care around farm machinery and livestock. Fire is the other potential hazard so yurts are equipped with fire extinguishers and candles are advised against inside the yurts.
No smoking is permitted inside the Yurts or The Hub. Please dispose of your cigarette butts responsibly if you do smoke outside.
